We Love Helvetica

Helvetica is one of the most popular and recognizable fonts of all time. Developed by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann in 1957 for the Haas Type Foundry in Switzerland, Helvetica aimed to serve as an updated sans serif font that conveyed clarity, modernity, and neutrality.

In celebration of Helvetica’s 50th anniversary in 2007, director Gary Hustwit filmed a feature documentary revolving around the life of the famous typeface. In it, a graphic designer examined Coca-Cola’s use of the typeface, saying: “It’s the real thing. Period. Coke. Period. In Helvetica. Period. Any questions? Of course not.”
