Making the environment just a tiny bit better

For the last 60 years, the creek that runs through our property on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in North Chicago was used as an industrial dumping ground. Every imaginable kind of trash was disposed in the creek: tires, shopping carts, tarps, beer bottles (millions of them), plastic detritus from bottles, styrofoam and even lawn chairs.

Buster Creative decided to do something about this and led a team of local volunteers to launch a clean up of the site. Here are some before and after pictures.

We are currently trying to remove invasive species and restore the creek to the natural wetland it once was. Stay tuned!
