Is 2011 the year of the QR code? QR stands for “quick response??? and these tiny (and sometimes gigantic) scannable squares are popping up on everything lately, from magazine ads and billboards to soda cans and even dog tags!

In the month of June 2011 alone, over 14 million Americans scanned QR codes with their mobile devices.

Of the 14 million …

60% are male

53% are 18-34 years-old

36% have an income of over $100,000

Where were those QR codes placed?

49% Printed magazine or newspaper

35% Product packaging

27% Website on PC

23% Poster/flyer/kiosk

QR codes are also becoming a growing trend in college and job applications. Try including a QR code within your resume to drive people to your blog, LinkedIn profile or other relevant content, and you’ll be sure to stand out of the crowd!
