How do you fit an entire pharma ad in a tweet?

 In Uncategorized

You can’t, of course, but the FDA has recently released Guidance for Industry Internet/Social Media Platforms with Character Space Limitations— Presenting Risk and Benefit Information for Prescription Drugs and Medical Devices. This document gives some direction on ways in which you can use Tweets or Google/Yahoo Sponsored Links to help promote your product.

The FDA is concerned with the equitable balance of benefit and risk when presented in a space-limited format. The benefit must be conveyed in an accurate and non-misleading manner, while allowing enough characters to adequately convey required risk information.

Surprisingly, The FDA has provided considerable leeway in the promotional use of these space-constrained media formats and has included several hypothetical examples on how to accomplish this.

This makes disseminating news and information about medical devices and pharmaceuticals (human and animal) more convenient for patients, clinicians and other stakeholders.
